McLaren issues service information to the dealer network through three document types. Knowledge Articles (KA-) are technical service bulletins — they document known issues and the approved repair procedure. When McLaren engineers figure out why a batch of cars is rattling from the engine bay or why the SSG is shifting oddly in cold weather, a KA is how that fix gets communicated to technicians.

Service Callbacks (SCB-) are the more serious category — safety recalls and field campaigns. If an SCB applies to your VIN, it gets done for free at any McLaren dealer regardless of warranty status. Check your VIN at NHTSA’s VIN lookup tool to see what’s open on your car.

Every document in this index has a corresponding NHTSA Manufacturer Communication number (MC-XXXXXXXX). McLaren is required to file these as public records, which is how this index is possible. The PDFs here are those public NHTSA filings.

My recommendation: If you’re a new 720S owner, start with the SCB_ documents. Read SCB_14_A_003 (airbrake panel bolt inspection) and SCB_00_B_001 (rear toe link recall) first. Then work through the KA- list for anything that matches symptoms you’ve noticed on your car. It’s a couple hours of reading that could save you significant repair bills later.
