Remove glass - Tailgate outer - Fixed
| | | Care Point: | Risk of component damage - Protect surrounding area.

| Care Point: | Risk of component damage: Do not damage or de-bond door secondary seal.

| | | 1. | Remove seal clip (1).
| | | 2. | Detach door seal (2) from tailgate glass finisher (3).
| | | 
|
| | | Care Point: | Risk of component damage: The use of standard cutting wire or tooling could damage the vehicle body.
Due to the materials used on the vehicle McLaren recommend that a suitable fibre cutting cord is used to remove all bonded glass.

| Care Point: | The front edge of the tailgate glass finisher (underneath the door seal) is secured to the vehicle with adhesive tape (T).
|
| Care Point: | With the aid of another technician supporting the tailgate glass.
|
| Care Point: | Bond line shown in graphic (B).
|
| | | 3. | Carefully cut out tailgate glass (4) from vehicle.
| | | | | Care Point: | Risk of component damage: Do not damage or de-bond door secondary seal.

| | | 4. | Remove tailgate glass (4) from vehicle.
| | | 
|
Install glass - Tailgate outer - Fixed
| 1. | | | | 2. | | | | 3. | Clean excess sealant from vehicle before preparing for installation.

| | | Care Point: | Renew bump-ons if installing part originally removed.
|
| Care Point: | Make sure adhesive is applied at the approximate distances from the glass stated on the diagram.

| | | 4. | Apply adhesive (5) along dotted line in tailgate glass black off. Sika Tack OEM
| | | | | Care Point: | Make sure tailgate glass finisher and door seal (2) are installed correctly.
|
| | | 5. | Offer up tailgate glass to vehicle.
| | | 
|
| 6. | Fit locator pin (6) into correct position on vehicle.
| | | 
|
| 7. | Press the glass into place until bump-ons make contact with body (7).
| | | 8. | Allow Sika Tack OEM a suitable time period to cure.
| | | 9. | Install components in reverse order.
