Preparation work

Care Point: Lower the Glass - Door 150mm from the upper edge of the door frame before disconnecting the battery.

Care Point: Remove the upper loudspeaker only.
7.     
Care Point: Disconnect only.
8.     
Care Point: Disconnect only.

WARNING!
 
Risk of injury caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lids, rear-end doors or sliding roofs.
When working on these components and on their connecting mechanisms, serious injuries can occur due to cutting, jamming or pinching of body parts like fingers and hands.
Wear protective gloves.
Be careful when working in hazardous areas.
Secure the movement area of the mechanism to prevent interference when moving components.
Use special tool or other means to ensure safe distance to dangerous areas.
 

CAUTION!
 
Risk of injury if window glass is not secured!
The unsecured window can fall down and can cause injury by contusing hands when working on the power windows or the windows in the vehicle doors.
Secure window against falling down with self-made retaining hook or special tool.
 

Care Point:
Do not overtighten the bolts as the glass will break.

Remove glass - Door
1.  
Remove nuts (1). (M5) 4 Nm
 
2.  
Remove the speaker enclosure panel (2) with door control unit attached.
 
3.  
Loosen bolt (3).(M8x26) 8 Nm
 

 
Care Point:
Bolt (4) is fitted with a rubber washer, make sure this remains with the bolt.

Remove bolt (4).(M8x25) 8 Nm
 
   
5.  
Remove the glass - Door.
 


Install glass - Door
 
Care Point:
When installing window glass, make sure the window is fitted between the correct seals, and into front window guide.

Care Point:
Make sure correct torque of bolts. Overtightening can break window glass.

Care Point:
Clean and apply Loctite 243 to bolts (3, 4).

Care Point:
Make sure rear glass guide pin is fully engaged in seal.

Care Point:
Make sure rear edge of glass is parallel to B-Pillar finisher when glass is in full up position (to within a maximum of 1.0mm variance).

Install window glass.

Connect window/door release switch and check functionality of window.
 
4.   
Remove window/door release switch.
 
5.   
Install remaining components in reverse order.
 
6.   
Connect McLaren Diagnostic System (MDS).
 
7.   
Proceed to Diagnostic toolbox.
 
8.   
Select Door Module Left/Right (DML/DMR).
 
9.   
Access sequences.
 
10.  
Carry out Window Calibration sequence.
