Preparation work
1.     

Overview
 
Care Point:
If required, make sure the suspension system has been depressurised before disconnecting Li-ion battery.

 
1.  
Connect McLaren Diagnostic System (MDS), proceed to Diagnostic Toolbox within Chassis Control Unit (CCU).
 
2.  
Access sequences.
 
3.  
Carry out APMU Maintenance Start.
 
 
Care Point:
If required, make sure Electric Parking Brake (EPB) has been disengaged with McLaren Diagnostic System (MDS) before disconnecting Li-ion battery.

 
4.  
Connect McLaren Diagnostic System (MDS), proceed to Diagnostic Toolbox within Electronic Stability Program (ESP).
 
5.  
Access sequences.
 
6.  
Carry out EPB Enter Maintenance Mode.
 

Disconnect Li-ion battery
 
Care Point:
Make sure vehicle is in sleep mode before disconnecting Li-ion battery.

 
1.  
Release clamp (1). 6 Nm
 
2.  
Disconnect ground cable (2) from Li-ion battery (3).
 
3.  
Secure ground cable (2) away from battery terminal.
 


Connect Li-ion battery
 
Care Point:
Before tightening clamp (1), make sure it is positioned as far down battery terminal as possible.

Care Point:
Once clamp is torqued, perform a pull test.

Care Point:
Make sure any battery chargers are disconnected when performing Steering Column Calibration, either by the MDS sequence or when prompted by the Instrument Cluster.

 
1.  
Install components in reverse order.
 
2.  
Reset date/time on instrument cluster.
 
 
Care Point:
If required, re-engage Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) with McLaren Diagnostic System (MDS).

 
3.  
Connect McLaren Diagnostic System (MDS), proceed to Diagnostic Toolbox within Electronic Stability Program (ESP).
 
4.  
Access sequences.
 
5.  
Carry out EPB Exit Maintenance Mode.
