Remove control unit - Seat
| | | Care Point: | The procedure below outlines removal of the seat control unit on a full electric seat.
Hybrid Seats (Driver side with electric height adjust) and Manual Seats (Passenger side) do not have a control unit.

| Care Point: | Risk of component damage: Do not place seat assembly on a hard surface.
|
| | | 1. | Disconnect electrical connectors (1).
| | | 
|
| | | Care Point: | Harness removed from graphic for clarity.
|
| | | 2. | | | | 3. | Remove control unit (3).

|
install control unit - Seat
| | | Care Point: | If seat control unit is being replaced or updated, make sure switch pack is installed first.
Do not attempt to fit an opposite vehicle side (Driver / Passenger) or different drive side (LHD / RHD) switch pack for testing purposes, this will cause a communication failure of the seat control unit/s.

| | | 1. | Install components in reverse order.
| | | | | Care Point: | Carry out steps 2 to 8 if a new control unit has been fitted.

| Care Point: | Make sure VCI and MDS batteries are in good condition or connected to external power supply
|
| | | 2. | Connect McLaren Diagnostic System (MDS).
| | | 3. | Proceed to Diagnostic Toolbox.
| | | 4. | Select Seat Control Module Left / Right (SCML / SCMR).
| | | 5. | Access Reprogramming.
| | | | | Care Point: | If update is not available, proceed to step 7.

| | | 6. | Check if a software update is available, update as required.
| | | 7. | Access Sequences.
| | | 8. | Carry out Seat Calibration sequence.
| | | 9. | Check functionality.
| | | 10. | Read out and clear error memory.
