Overview
1.  
The Navigation Maps for European, Federal and Japanese markets will be pre-installed onto the control unit.
For all other markets, the Navigation Maps are contained on an SD memory card. During the PDI (Pre-delivery Inspection) the SD card must be taken from the Accessory bag and installed into the control unit.
This will not be the case should a map update be released, where this will be contained on an SD memory card in all cases.

Replacement control units are not supplied with a new SD card, and as such this must be carried over to the new part.
 

Remove control unit - Infotainment
1.  
Unclip the wiring harness from the bracket.
 
2.  
Disconnect the electrical connectors from the control unit and PDC speaker (where fitted).
 

3.  
Remove the bolts (1).(M5x12) 3 Nm
 
4.  
Remove the bracket and the control unit (2) from vehicle.
 

 
Care Point:
Proceed only if replacing the control unit.

Care Point:
On both sides of assembly.

Remove the bolts (3).(M5x12) 2 Nm
 
6.  
Separate the bracket from the control unit (2).
 
 
Care Point:
If the replacing control unit.
Make sure that the SD card is either securely stored during replacement or immediately transferred to the replacement part.

 
7.  
Remove the Navigation Maps SD card.
 


Install control unit - Infotainment
1.   
Install the components in reverse order.
 
 
Care Point:
If an update is not available, proceed to step 3.

Care Point:
The Advance Drive Interface (ADI) software links are listed in a Knowledge Article (KA). Refer to KA-01234.

 
2.   
Download the latest ADI software to a USB pen drive.
Follow the steps in the KA-01234 to update the control unit.
 
3.   
Go to Sequences in the ADI.
 
4.   
Do the Align Car Configuration sequence.
 
5.   
Do the Programme VIN sequence.
 
6.   
Do the Set Configuration Defaults sequence.
 
7.   
Do the Radio Configuration sequence.
 
 
Care Point:
Where required, check and re-calibrate vehicle camera system.

Care Point:
The procedure below must be claimed separately if you make a warranty claim.

Connect the McLaren Diagnostic System (MDS) and do a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) read and clear.
