Preparation work
Remove display unit - Driver
| | | Care Point: | Before starting work make sure the display is in the slim position.

| Care Point: | Risk of component damage. Upper trim clips are tight. Damage to upper trim may occur. Trim clip locations shown on graphic ©).

| | | 1. | Apply interior protective cover (M) to protect facia.
| | | 
|
| 2. | Remove the upper trim by lifting upwards (1).
| | | 
|
| 3. | | | | | | Care Point: | Electrical connectors are located at the rear and bottom of the driver display. The driver display must be lifted upwards to disconnect.

| | | 4. | Lift driver display (3).
| | | 5. | Disconnect electrical connectors (4).
| | | 6. | Remove driver display (3).
| | |

Install display unit - Driver
| | | Care Point: | Replace any damaged trim clips.
|
| | | 1. | Install components in reverse order.
| | | | | Care Point: | Carry out steps 2 to 15 if a new control unit is fitted.
|
| Care Point: | Make sure VCI and MDS batteries are in good condition or connected to external power supply.
|
| | | 2. | Connect McLaren Diagnostic System (MDS).
| | | 3. | Proceed to Diagnostic Toolbox within Advanced Driver Interface (ADI).
| | | | | Care Point: | If update is not available, proceed to step 10.
|
| Care Point: | Do not attempt to start reprogramming until the Ethernet cable is installed correctly.
The OBD2 cable must remain connected to the vehicle and MDS tablet during the entire reprogramming process.

| | | 5. | | | | 6. | Install the supplied Ethernet to USB male adaptor to the Ethernet cable.

| 7. | Plug USB adaptor into port one (P1) of the USB interface panel, located in the tunnel console.
| | | | | Care Point: | ADI screen will display "Update Preparing".

| | | 8. | Allow update to download to the ADI system.
| | | | | Care Point: | ADI screen will display progress bars during install, followed by "Update Successful" once complete.

| | | 9. | Allow update to install to the ADI system
| | | 10. | Access Sequences.
| | | 11. | Carry out Align Car Configuration sequence.
| | | 12. | Carry out Programme VIN sequence.
| | | 13. | Carry out Set Configuration Defaults sequence.
| | | 14. | Carry out Radio Configuration sequence.
| | | | | Care Point: | Where required, check and re-calibrate vehicle camera system.
