Remove pump - Water

1.	Remove nuts (1).(M6) 8 Nm
2.	Move heat shield (2).

3.	Loosen bolts (3).(M8x108) 25 Nm
4.	Loosen bolts (4).(M8x140) 25 Nm

Care Point:

Compliant elements (6) in refrigerant lines.

Care Point:

Only slacken HVAC bolts enough to allow removal of the coupling.

Care Point:

Do not slacken the HVAC compressor bolts too much or the Air Conditioning system may be damaged.

Slacken HVAC compressor (5) as shown.

Move EuroGrip coupling onto HVAC compressor.

Remove bolts (7). (M6x20) 10 Nm

Care Point:

Use suitable container to collect excess fluid.

Remove water pump cover (8).

Care Point:

Engine may need to be rotated to allow access to bolts.

Spin water pump sprocket so that bolt holes are vertical and accessible.

Care Point:

Do not remove centre screw.

Remove bolts (9).(M6x12) 10 Nm

Care Point:

Allow chain to spring back, it will not retract into the central cavity. The chain can be repositioned later.

Detach water pump sprocket (10) and chain.

Remove clamps (11-15).

Care Point:

Use suitable container to catch excess fluid.

Care Point:

Do not rotate the clutch cooler hose spigot within the pump housing when removing the clutch cooler feed hose (12).

Detach water pipes from water pump.

Care Point:

Remove bolts in a left to right direction (sprocket end to coupling end).

Remove bolts (16).(M6x80) 10 Nm

15.	Remove bolts (17).(M6x25) 10 Nm
16.	Remove water pump (18).

Install pump - Water

Clean surfaces of engine block and water pump.

Replace water pump gasket (19).

Care Point:

Make sure correct orientation of sprocket (marked front).

Care Point:

Make sure sprocket is in same orientation to allow for easy access to bolts.

Install sprocket.

Care Point:

Align ring dowels, press home.

Install water pump.

Replace cover metal gasket (20).

Care Point:

Coupling is colour coded on the outer circumference. The HVAC coupling colour code is red.

Do not squeeze / deform the shape of the coupling prior to fitment. Care must be taken when handling and fitting the coupling. Deformation can cause damage to the internal structure and lead to premature part failure.

Make sure that the right coupling is being fitted to the correct vehicle system. The internal spline may be the same but the couplings are not interchangeable.

Renew coupling if the part has become damaged or deformed.

Check coupling (21) and replace if necessary.

Care Point:

Replace cable tie.

Install components in reverse order.

Check cooling system.

Read out and clear error memory.
