Risk of injury when working on windshield wiper mechanism!
When working in the area of the windshield wiper mechanism it can be activated accidently when the ignition is on. Thus it can result in severe injuries by cutting, pinching or crushing body parts.
Wear tight fitting clothing and hair net.
| • | Make sure that the ignition is off.
| | • | Secure operating range of mechanism against reaching in.
| | • | Keep sufficient distance away from moving parts.
| | • | Supervise hazard area.

Remove windscreen wiper linkage
| | | Care Point: | Protect the windscreen, risk of damage.
|
| | | 1. | | | | 2. | Partially remove the wiper linkage.
| | | 3. | Disconnect the electrical connector.
| | | 4. | Remove wiper linkage from vehicle.
| | |

Install windscreen wiper linkage
| | | Care Point: | Apply pressure to compress NVH foam at motor end. Do not force bolts.
|
| | | 1. | Install components in reverse order.
Make sure bolts are hand tightened, then torque in the following sequence as shown (1-6).
| | | 2. | | | | | | Care Point: | Carry out steps 3 to 5, if a new Windscreen wiper linkage is fitted.

| | | 3. | Connect McLaren Diagnostic System, proceed to Diagnostic Toolbox within Front Wiper Motor (FWM).
| | | 4. | Access Quick Test section check if update is available.
| | | 5. | Proceed with Flashing if required.
| | | 6. | Check functionality.
