Body Exterior / Wipers and Washer System / Windscreen Wiper Arm / DA-RM-03A074-02-001 - Remove/Install wiper arms
Remove wiper arm
 
Care Point:
If not replacing windscreen, apply tape to aid in re-alignment of wiper arms and to protect windscreen from damage.

 
1.  
Open bonnet
 

2.  
Remove caps (1).
 

3.  
Remove nut (2). (M10) 24 Nm
 
 
Care Point:
Arms can be removed by flexing the spring joint and gently rocking the arms on the spindle.

 
4.  
Remove passenger arm (3).
 
5.  
Remove nut (4). (M10) 24 Nm
 
6.  
Remove upper driver arm (5).
 

7.  
Remove cap.
 
8.  
Remove nut (6).(M10) 24 Nm
 
9.  
Remove lower driver arm (7).
 


Install wiper arm
 
Care Point:
Wiper arms can only be refitted to a vehicle 5 times.
When re-fitting, place a dot using a paint pen on the inside of the arm, positioned as close to the wiper spindle as possible so as not to be visible when wipers are in operation.
If the wiper arm/s have 4 paint pen dots, the arm/s must be replaced.

Check wiper arms for refitting count.
 

 
Care Point:
Make sure wiper motor is in park position before installing.
Make sure vehicle is in sleep mode before installing.

Care Point:
Make sure wiper blade aligns with park position timing marks (T) in windscreen.

Care Point:
If wiper arms move whilst applying torque, remove nut and restart installation.

Care Point:
Clean and apply Loctite 243 to all fixings.

 
2.  
Install lower driver arm. (M10) 24 Nm
 
 
Care Point:
Make sure wiper blade aligns with park position timing marks (T) in windscreen.

Care Point:
If wiper arms move whilst applying torque, remove nut and restart installation.

Care Point:
Compress driver arm spring joint whilst aligning and installing upper driver arm.
Pressure must be held until the fixing nut is installed and torque is applied..

Care Point:
Make sure upper driver arm is as close to parallel to the wiper blade as possible.

 
3.  
Install upper driver arm. (M10) 24 Nm
 

 
Care Point:
Make sure there is a suitable gap between driver and passenger wiper arms.

Care Point:
Make sure wiper blade aligns with park position timing marks (T) in windscreen.

Care Point:
If wiper arms move whilst applying torque, remove nut and restart installation.

 
4.  
Install passenger arm in reverse order.
 
 
Care Point:
Make sure no clashes with bodywork or between the arms occurs.

 
5.  
Check functionality.
