Preparation work
1.     
Care Point: Disconnection of the battery is only required for removal of the passenger seat. If removing the drivers seat, allow vehicle to enter sleep mode only.
2.     
Remove seat - Sport
 
Care Point:
Make sure interior and rocker panel protective covers are used.
Care Point:
Take note of seat height/tilt setting if replacing seat assembly.
 
1.  
Slide seat as far rearwards as possible.
 

2.  
Remove outer seatbelt bolt (1). 40 Nm
 
 
Care Point:
Always replace the seat bolts. Refer to the Spare Parts Catalogue (SPC) for part numbers.
 
3.  
Remove front mounting bolts (2). (M8x25) 25 Nm
 
4.  
Slide seat as far forwards as possible.
 
5.  
Disconnect body harness connector.
 
 
Care Point:
Always replace the seat bolts. Refer to the Spare Parts Catalogue (SPC) for part numbers.
 
6.  
Remove rear mounting bolts (3). (M8x25) 25 Nm
 
7.  
Remove seat.
 
Install seat - Sport
 
Care Point:
If seat assembly is being replaced, the following items will require transferring to the new assembly:
•
Seatbelt stalk.
•
Care Point:
Make sure seat assembly is adjusted to correct height/tilt settings before installing.
Care Point:
Make sure smooth seat movement operation and seat locks into place when moved.
Care Point:
Make sure seatbelt is not twisted when installed.
Care Point:
Carry out step 1 if a new assembly is being installed / Seat settings are being changed.
 
1.  
Proceed to installation section of the following procedure if re-alignment of seat assembly is required. DA-RM-08N001-07-022 - Adjust shell - Base - Sport Seat
 
2.  
Install components in reverse order.
 
 
Care Point:
Carry out steps 2 to 4 if the passenger seat has been removed.
 
3.  
Connect McLaren Diagnostic System (MDS), proceed to Diagnostic Toolbox with Occupant Restraint Controller.
 
4.  
Access sequences section.
 
5.  
Carry out Configure Occupant Classification System.
 
6.  
Read out and clear error memory.
