Remove Li-Ion battery
 
Care Point:
If required, make sure the suspension system has been depressurised before disconnecting Li-ion battery.

 
1.   
Connect McLaren Diagnostic System (MDS), proceed to Diagnostic Toolbox within Chassis Control Unit (CCU).
 
2.   
Access Sequences.
 
3.   
Carry out Nose Lift Maintenance sequence.
 

 
Care Point:
Make sure vehicle is in sleep mode.

 
4.   
Disconnect electrical connector (1).
 
 
Care Point:
Once ground line is detached, protect with suitable tape.

Loosen nut (3) and detach positive line with fusebox (4).
 
7.   
Remove bolts (5). (M6x16) 6 Nm
 
8.   
Detach harness from washer bottle (6).
 
9.   
Remove bolts (7). (M8x16) 20 Nm
 
10.  
Remove clamps (8).
 
11.  
Remove Li-Ion battery (9).
 


Install Li-Ion battery
 
Care Point:
Make sure any battery chargers are disconnected when performing Steering Column Calibration, either by the MDS sequence or when prompted by the Instrument Cluster.

 
1.  
Install components in reverse order.
 
 
Care Point:
Carry out steps 2 to 4, if a new Li-ion battery is fitted.

 
2.  
Connect McLaren Diagnostic System, proceed to Diagnostic Toolbox within Integrated Battery Sensor (IBS)
 
3.  
Access Quick Test section check if update is available.
 
4.  
Proceed with Flashing if required.
 
5.  
Check / Set time and date through instrument cluster stalk controls.
 
6.  
Read out and clear error memory.
