Prepare the vehicle
1.   
Make sure the vehicle is on level ground.
 
 
Care Point:
Apply the following adjustments to the ride height figures if the tank is full with driver: Front -2mm / Rear - 3mm.

Care Point:
Apply the following adjustments to the ride height figures if the tank is empty with driver: Front + 2mm / Rear + 3mm.

Care Point:
Load the vehicle to add 75kg evenly between both driver and passenger sides, 25kg on each seat and 12.5kg in each footwell.

 
2.   
Make sure no additional weight is in the luggage compartment area.
 

 
Measure the ride heights
Care Point:
Ride heights should be measured from the road contact surface to each measuring point.

Care Point:
Specified ride heights - 134mm front, 146mm rear (with driver and half tank of fuel) Tolerance: +/-3mm.

 
3.   
Using the measurement method illustrated (box section suspended across the ramps), make sure that the vehicle is at correct ride height (3).
 

4.   
For wheel alignment see measuring points (1) for front and (2) for rear.
 
 
Care Point:
Tyre pressure: Front 2.2 Bar, Rear 2.2 Bar.

 
5.   
Make sure the vehicle wheels are pointed in the straight ahead position.
 
6.   
Make sure the tyres are a matched axle set and at the correct pressures.
 
7.   
Make sure the fuel tank is to specified level (36 litres).
 
8.   
Make sure there are no leaks in the PAS system.
 
 
Care Point:
Make sure the equipment manufacturers instructions are followed.

Care Point:
Carry out camber adjustment using the camber adjustment top hat on the upright.

 
9.   
Check for signs of wear or damage to the suspension components.
 
 
Wheel alignment check
Care Point:
The caster angle is not adjustable.

 
10.  
Do the wheel alignment check.

11.  
Connect McLaren Diagnostic System, proceed to Diagnostic Toolbox within Steering Angle Sensor (SAS).
 
12.  
Access Quick Test section check if update is available.
 
13.  
Proceed with Flashing if required.
 
14.  
Access Sequences section.
 
15.  
Carry out Fine Tune Zero Position procedure.
 
16.  
Read, delete error memory.
 
17.
