Preparation work

Care Point: Remove both sides.

Inspect Front Brake Pads
 
Care Point:
Brake pads must be renewed in axle sets

Care Point:
The brake bedding procedure must be carried out whenever brake pads are renewed. This is to Make sure a good mating condition between the pad and disc.

Care Point:
When the brake discs are renewed, the brake pads must be replaced regardless of mileage covered by the vehicle.

 
1.  
If any measurement point (A, B, C, D, E, F) of the friction material (total thickness minus backing plate & shim) is below 3mm then the brake pads must be replaced regardless of mileage covered by the vehicle or if the brake pad wear sensor flag is showing.
 

 
Care Point:
If both conditions below occur then the brake pads must be replaced regardless of mileage covered by the vehicle.

 
2.  
Pad material thickness below 50% worn.
 
3.  
Brake pad thickness difference between inboard brake pad at point A and outboard brake pad at point B is greater than 2mm.
 
 
Care Point:
If either condition below occurs then the brake pads must be replaced regardless of mileage covered by the vehicle.

 
4.  
Brake pad thickness difference between point A and point B is greater than 2mm.
 

5.  
Brake pad thickness difference between point C and point D is greater than 2mm.
 

 
Care Point:
If either condition below occurs then the brake pads must be replaced regardless of mileage covered by the vehicle.

 
6.  
Brake pad thickness difference between point A and point C is greater than 2mm.
 
7.  
Brake pad thickness difference between point B and point D is greater than 2mm.
