WARNING!

Risk of injury and poisoning working with hydraulic fluid!
Risk of injury to skin or eyes from hydraulic fluid spraying out under pressure. When disengaging hydraulic lines without depressurising the system, dangerous skin or eye injuries can occur due to the very high pressures (in excess of 200 bar). If hydraulic fluid, particularly central hydraulic fluid (especially harmful), comes into contact with unprotected skin, this can cause damage to the skin.
If hydraulic fluid is swallowed, this can lead to poisoning symptoms such as headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, cramps and unconsciousness.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.
Depressurise and drain the system if necessary when commencing work on hydraulic systems.
Never put hydraulic fluid into beverage containers.
Ensure sufficient ventilation, especially in the case of central hydraulic fluid.
Ensure that only authorised persons have access to hydraulic fluid.
Immediately seal disconnected leads and hoses and the connections to the assembly with blind plugs.

WARNING!

Risk of injury and poisoning working with hydraulic fluid under pressure!
Risk of injury to skin or eyes from hydraulic fluid spraying out under pressure. If any part of the hydraulic circuit has failed, a possibility of the system not depressurising can occur. Extra precaution is required in this event. If hydraulic fluid is swallowed, this can lead to poisoning symptoms such as headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, cramps and unconsciousness.
Always wear skin protection cream, protective gloves and safety glasses when working on a potentially pressurised system.

WARNING!

Possible fluid spills from vehicle systems during repairs or maintenance.
Risk of thermal incidents, slip hazards, corrosion of electrical components, failure of electrical or mechanical components or unwanted odours.
Always limit fluid spills and fully clean the spilled fluid after repairs or maintenance.

Fill/Bleed fluid - Suspension system

Care Point:
QD connector must be installed (if not already fitted) to bleed suspension 12 Nm.

Care Point:
DO NOT remove QD connector once installed.

Care Point:
Safety Critical! Make sure no technicians are working on or underneath vehicle before proceeding.

Care Point:
Before carrying out this suspension bleed procedure, Make sure that the steering system has been bled. DA-RM-04D001-00-001 - Fill/Bleed fluid - Steering

Care Point:
With the dampers fully extended.

1.
Secure/lift vehicle on lifting platform.DA-RM-01A001-00-001 - Secure/Lift vehicle on platform

Care Point:
The adaptive damping system operates at approximately 20 bar pressure.
The suspension system must be depressurised before any work on the hydraulic system.

2.
Connect McLaren Diagnostic System, proceed to Diagnostic Toolbox within Power Chassis Control Unit (PCCU).

3.
Access Sequences section.

4.
Carry out APMU Maintenance Start.

5.
Set up suspension bleed tool, ensuring the correct bleed adaptors are installed. Suspension Bleed & Fill
Use bleed adaptors that are provided separately. Suspension Pipe Adaptor Kit

Care Point:
The pressure must be released from the machine leak test before filling with oil by slowly opening the panel valve.
Close panel valve once pressure release has been completed.

6.
Close off hose valves on the machine, and hold minimum 950 mbar vacuum for 1 minute.

7.
Fill machine with suspension oil.Pentosin CHF202

8.
Place the bleed machine in a higher position than the bleed valves.

Care Point:
Make sure that the hoses are as vertical as possible.

9.
Connect bleed adaptors to vehicle.

Care Point:
To speed up the process, lower the vehicle to the ground and gently bounce the vehicle up and down.

10.
Close panel valve on the machine and carry out vacuum, for approximately 20 minutes or until no bubbles can be seen in the oil tank.

11.
Open panel valve slowly to allow oil into the suspension system.

12.
Repeat steps 11 and 12.

Care Point:
The suspension system must be pressurised when work on the hydraulic system has been completed.
Carry out steps 15 to 18 with McLaren Diagnostic System (MDS).

13.
Start vehicle.

14.
Connect McLaren Diagnostic System, proceed to Diagnostic Toolbox within Chassis Control Unit (CCU).

15.
Access Sequences section.

16.
Carry out Damping Sensor Calibration.

17.
Check suspension system for leaks.
