Generic repairs - Check for damage in carbon fibre composites-PREPARATION
1.
Set switch (2) on the carbon fibre test tool (1) to Debond position.

2.
Rotate selection knob (3) on the carbon fibre test tool (1) to position F, and range AVERAGE 2.

Generic repairs - Check for damage in carbon fibre composites-CALIBRATION

Care Point:
Make sure that the tester (1) is positioned on an undamaged area that is the same structure as the specified test area.

1.
Place carbon fibre test tool (1) onto composite fibre (8).

2.
Press the actuation switch (7) on the carbon fibre test tool (1) to begin the calibration process.

Care Point:
All of the calibration values stored within the carbon fibre test tool will then define if the process has been done correctly, the standby display (4) will come on.

3.
Press in the calibration switch (6) to confirm calibration.

Generic repairs - Check for damage in carbon fibre composites-CHECK
1.
Use carbon fibre test tool to scan the suspected damaged are.

Care Point:
The different light combinations show the following information.

2.
• LED Red 1 + 2 = >80% damage to carbon fibre.

3.
• LED Red 2 = 40 - 80% damage to carbon fibre.

4.
• LED Red 1 = 16 - 40% damage to carbon fibre.

5.
• LED Yellow = 8 -16% damage to carbon fibre.

6.
• LED Green = <8% damage to carbon fibre.

7.
Mark all damaged areas with a white chinograph marker to highlight any damage. This should only be done, if the carbon fibre test tool has indicated an issue in that area.
