Risk of injury from moving parts!
When working on components which can be moved either by hand, by means of electric motors, or hydraulically/pneumatically via linkage, serious injuries can occur to body parts being trapped, crushed or severed.
Monitor hazard area.
| • | Secure area against unauthorised access when parts are in motion.
| | • | Never touch the mechanism of a component while it is being actuated.
| | • | Choose a test cable of sufficient length.

Remove brake pads - Parking
| | | Care Point: | The Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) in inoperative when this sequence is carried out.
|
| Care Point: | EPB calipers must be set in the fully open position before any mechanical work is carried out.
|
| | | 1. | Connect McLaren Diagnostic System, proceed to Diagnostic Toolbox within Electronic Stability Program (ESP).
| | | 2. | Access Sequences section.
| | | 3. | Carry out EPB Enter Maintenance Mode.
| | |
|
| 4. | Remove pin securing clips (1).
| | | 5. | Remove pad pins (2) and anti rattle clip (3).
| | | 6. | Remove electronic parking brake pads.
| | | 
|
Install brake pads - Parking
| 1. | Clean all contact areas.
| | | 2. | Install components in reverse order.
| | | | | Care Point: | EPB calipers must be set in the fully closed position when any mechanical work is complete.

| Care Point: | The EPB will be applied, Make sure it is safe to proceed with this sequence.
|
| | | 3. | Connect McLaren Diagnostic System, proceed to Diagnostic Toolbox within Electronic Stability Program (ESP).
| | | 4. | Access Sequences section.
| | | 5. | Carry out EPB Exit Maintenance Mode .
| | | 6. | Carry out EPB Assembly Check.
